This was the first year that Soren was an active Halloween participant. Up until now he has been more on the end of Halloween giving then getting. You can call Randy and I Halloween Humbugs - as we really aren't up for all that it is meant to be. Even our friends mock us as we hand out pencils, stickers and playdough. But this was to be Sorens year and we celebrated Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Soren was excited about all his possibilities for a costume. On Friday, at the Dodge Preschool event, he wore the fantastic fireman's costume he has been wearing for the last month. On Saturday, he wore his police outfit. But for the big day, it was the tradition African outfit that his Uncle Chris got for him from Africa that he wanted to wear. One thing for sure, there weren't any other african dressed white boys out in our hood tonight in the land of halloween costumes! FYI - Sevi hung out with papa to hand out the dreaded halloween treats we supply.
Soren in his Halloween night costume - yes, he did get a major haircut!

Checking out the bounty at home. He ate only one piece and was asleep 15 minutes after this shot was taken!

A Day in the Life of a Dodge Preschooler

On Monday parent's were invited to join their children on an outing to the Dodge Apple Orchard. It was a glorious day in the 80's and the class started off with a hike to the Farm where we gathered apples from the tree's. We all climbed aboard the wagon for a ride over to the actual orchard, where they have a cider press cabin. There the children all got to load the apples into the press and see how cider is freshly made, then drink it fresh from the pitcher. While waiting for the wagon to gather us up, a Dodge dad read the day's story to the class. With a month of preschool under his belt, Soren has loved every minute of it. Every morning he asks if it is a Dodge day. With experiences like this, who wouldn't be excited!

Purple Hot Roder

It has been a week of unusually warm temps here in Minneapolis and Soren has been out every afternoon tearing down our sidewalks on his big wheel. That is by far his favorite pedal powered vehicle in his collection, the best $3 garage sale find so far. Add to that his flaming shirt and purple high tops - all his own selection on a recent shopping trip - and you have one awesome hot roder.
